Still, I've used some really old cartridges and they worked fine but generally it's because we had purchased the cartridges in large lots and it took a long while to get the end of the batch.. To save money, many people use compatible ink cartridges from a vendor other than the printer manufacturer. However, if your main problem is not having a replacement ready when you need it you’re out of luck here.
